U.S. visa policy permits citizens of certain countries to travel to the U.S. without a visa if they meet certain requirements. Currently, 34 countries participate in the Visa Waiver Program, as shown below:

Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Monaco, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Republic of Korea, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

Canadians can also visit without a visa.

Please visit the U. S. Department of State Visa page for rules and regulations for Temporary Visitors to the U.S. http://travel.state.gov/visa/visa_1750.html

Those requiring a visa to enter the United States should request a B-1 "visitor" visa at the American Embassy or Consulate with jurisdiction over their place of permanent residence. Visa applications are now subject to a greater degree of scrutiny than in the past so it is important to apply for your visa well in advance of your travel departure date.

If you need an invitation letter from the IEEE Cluster 2009 committee, please email kjones@lsu.edu.
